U-19 Women’s One Day Cricket Tournament

JAMMU, Feb 16: Odisha crushed Jammu and Kashmir by a huge margin of 198 runs in the ongoing Under-19 Women’s One Day Cricket Tournament at Sanguem Cricket Ground, Goa.
Earlier, batting first, Odisha scored a big total of 289 runs in the stipulated 50 overs, losing 6 wickets in the process. Extras were the highest contributors with 83 runs, while Poonam Nayak, Sweet Behera and Rasmita Chinhara contributed 45, 44 and 20 runs to the total respectively. From Jammu and Kashmir, Rudrakshi Chib and Ronag Jahan took 2 wickets each, while Sonika claimed one wicket.
In reply, Jammu and Kashmir bundled out for a paltry total of 91 runs in 32.3 overs. Sonika top scored with 18 runs, while Iqra Rasool contributed 15 runs to the total. Lalita and Arti also chipped in with 12 and 9 runs respectively. From Odisha, Rani Kumari Prasad was the pick of the bowlers, who took 3 important wickets, while Tarana Pradhan, Indrani Chhatria, Kalpana Nayak, Tanmayee Behera and Poonam Nayak claimed one wicket each.
With this win, odisha got 4 points, while J&K failed to secure any point.
