JAMMU, Apr 3: To mitigate the essential supplies of petroleum products to Leh and Kargil region after a long pause of winter session, a fleet of Oil Tankers took off today from Narwal Oil Depot in presence of office bearers of Oil Tanker Owners, Drivers and Cleaners Union and senior officers of the Indian Oil Corporation.
The 1st fleet of Oil Tankers carrying the petroleum products was jointly flagged off by Ranjeet Kumar, SeniorDepot Manager, Yashpal, Deputy Manager IOCL Depot Jammu and Ranjit Singh, president of All Jammu and Kashmir Oil & LPG Tank Truck Drivers and Cleaners Union in presence of Oil Tanker Owners and other senior office bearers of the union including Sanjay Mahajan, Devinder Singh, Harasis Singh and Rajinder Singh. Speaking on the occasion, the union members informed that after a long spell of harsh winters, the essential supplies to the Ladakh and Kargil region remained cut off, we celebrate the beginning of this season.
President of the union appealed the government to provide necessary safety kits to the tanker drivers who despite all odds and unfavorable circumstances are ensuring supply of essential items to the people.
The simple programme was conducted while maintain social distancing and following all the preventive measures to combat COVID 19.
