JAMMU, Mar 4: A superb all-round show by Omar Alam and a five wicket haul by Mehraj-ud-Din helped Principal AG’s XI to drub AG’s XI by 32 runs in a T20 cricket match, as part of Jashan-e-Jammu Sports Mela, being organized by Principal Accountant General Office, here.
Earlier, batting first, Principal AG’s XI rode on a splendid knock of 59 runs by Omar Alam managed to score 130 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 9 wickets in the process. Ajaz Ahmed (29) and Ravi Kant (13) were the other contributors. Former first-class player and skipper of AG’s XI, Ashwani Gupta was the wrecker-in-chief, who scalped 4 important wickets, while Rahil Singh claimed 3 wickets.
In reply, AG’s XI bundled out for 98 runs in 18 overs, thus lost the match by 32 runs. Sahil Bhalwal (28) and Ashwanu Gupta (17) were the main contributors. Mehraj-ud-Din was the pick of the bowlers for Principal AG’s XI, who captured 5 important wickets, while Omar Alam and Sanjay Sharma bagged 2 wickets each and Javed claimed one.
