JAMMU, Feb 22: A day after meeting Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today called on Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde in New Delhi and discussed with him latest situation prevailing in the State especially in the aftermath of hanging of 2001 Parliament attack convict Mohammad Afzal Guru.
Both the leaders discussed the situation prevailing in the State and steps required to maintain law and order.
Official sources said Mr Shinde assured Centre’s full support and cooperation to Omar in dealing with the situation and maintenance of law and order.
The Chief Minister apprised the Home Minister that the State Government through its Home Department had forwarded a request of the family of Afzal Guru for return of his body.
