Omar Nabi slams ton in Star Club’s big win

SRINAGAR, Aug 22: Omar Nabi smashed a power-packed century to help Star Cricket Club, Srinagar thrash Bijbehara Sports by 10 wickets to advance in the ongoing Parvaiz Qureshi Memorial Invitational Cricket Cup, being organized by the Kashmir wing of Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association at Kashmir University grounds, here.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, Bijbehara Sports scored a modest total of 138 runs in 35.4 overs. Showkat was the top scorer with 30 runs, while Adnan contributed 18 runs to the total. For Star Club, Younis and Khalid captured 3 wickets each.
In reply, Star Club sailed on a brilliant knock of 100 runs by Omar Nabi and chased the required target in just 12.4 overs, without losing any wicket to win the match by 10 wickets. Omar struck 11 fours and 6 sixes in his quick-fire knock. He was well supported by Jahangir who contributed valuable 34 runs to the total.
The match was officiated by Rafiq Ahmed and Sameer Ahmed as umpires, while Javed Ahmed maintained the scorebook.
