Former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today questioned whether the Centre has any strategy to deal with the surge in COVID-19 cases or has left it to the States to deal with the menace now.
The vice-president of the National Conference (NC), who is in self-quarantine after his father Dr Farooq Abdullah tested positive for COVID-19 recently, said the number of cases have increased from 12,286 cases a month ago on March 2 to 81,466 on Thursday.
Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, he said, “From 12,286 new cases a month ago on 2nd March to 81,466 new cases today. Does the Union Government have a strategy to deal with these rampaging numbers or is this now a problem for States to deal with as they see fit? “. (UNI)
