SRINAGAR:Denying to have authorized anyone to collect cash from on his behalf for flood victims of Kashmir, former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said he will be filing a police complaint in this regard.
The working president of the main opposition National Conference (NC) in the state Mr Abdullah said that there are reports that one person was contacting people on mobile asking them for donation for flood victims on his behalf.
In a tweet Mr Abdullah said, “Beware of someone called Aamir calling from 9697217371,claiming to be collecting cash for flood victims of Kashmir on my behalf.”
He further said, “I haven’t authorised anyone & nor am I collecting cash for flood victims. I’ll be filing a police case in Srinagar but please be careful.”
“If I ever launch any sort of appeal it will be here on Twitter so if you get a call on my behalf please contact the police,” he said in the tweet.
In his earlier tweet he said,When the 1 lac Cr package being announced by the PM on Friday includes 40,000 Cr for flood victims I’ll be the first person to applaud it.
The NC has alleged that PDP and BJP coalition government has failed to rehabilitate the flood victims of the September last year devastating flood.
The then government headed by Mr Abdullah had sought Rs 44000 crore package for flood victims and rebuilding damaged infrastructure in the state. (AGENCIES)
