JAMMU, June 15: A woman, who attempted suicide on the intervening night of June 11 and 12 by setting self on fire at her residence in Nagrota, succumbed to her injuries in Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu while another woman received serious burn injuries in stove blast at her residence in Resham Ghar Colony.
According to a police spokesperson, on June 12, Darshana Devi (38) wife of Ram Dayal, a resident of Dhami in Nagrota area of city outskirts, was shifted to GMCH Jammu in serious condition after she tried to end her life on the intervening night of June 11 and 12 by settling self on fire at her residence. However, today she succumbed to her injuries in the hospital.
The body of the deceased was handed over to her legal heirs for last rites after completing medico-legal formalities. The concerned police has already taken cognizance of the matter.
Meanwhile, another woman namely Parteema Devi (28) wife of Dhara Pandey, a resident of Bihar (at present Resham Ghar Colony) received serious injuries due to stove blast at her temporary residence this morning. In the mishap, the woman received about 70% burn injuries and was immediately shifted to GMCH Jammu for treatment. Bakshi Nagar police has taken cognizance of the matter.
