JAMMU, July 25: A youth committed suicide by consuming some poisonous substance in Shakti Nagar area while another made an abortive attempt on her life in Domana area of city outskirts.
According to a police spokesman, a youth identified as Rajnish (25) son of Ashok Gupta, resident of Shakti Nagar, consumed some poisonous substance at his residence on July 22 following which he was shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu, where he expired this evening. The body of the deceased was shifted to mortuary room of the hospital.
In a separate incident, a young girl namely Pooja Devi (23) daughter of Kamal Lal, resident of Domana, was found unconscious at her residence. She was immediately shifted to GMCH Jammu where doctors said that she had consumed some poisonous substance.
In both cases, the concerned police had taken cognizance of the matter.
