REASI, Mar 24: One day Kissan Mela-cum-Exhibition under Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY) was organized by the Department of Agriculture at Panchayat Ghar, Seela, here today. The camp was inaugurated by the MLA Reasi Ajay Nanda, who was the chief guest on the occasion.
The chief guest inspected all the stalls and appreciated the activities of agriculture and allied departments. He asked officers to work cohesively for the upliftment of the farmers. He stressed upon the farmers to take maximum benefit from the various schemes of the department.
Earlier, District Agriculture Officer (SMS) Vinod Dhar gave review of activities of his department. Various stalls were set up by the Agriculture, Horticulture, Fisheries, Employment, Floriculture, Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Handicrafts, Handloom and Employment. The latest machinery and small tractors were also displayed on the occasion.
Farmers also exhibited samples of their produce in the Mela and prizes were given to the best samples. In the technical session, all the officers of the allied departments also spoke about their departmental schemes for the upliftment of farmers.
