KATRA, Apr 6: Police today arrested a man from Katra and recovered illicit liquor from his possession.
According to a police spokesman, acting on a specific input, a police team of police station Katra laid a special naka near old PCP Nomain and during checking/frisking, the police team recovered 70 poly pouches of J&K excise liquor from the possession of one Veer Singh son of Gulab Singh, a resident of Serbad, Tehsil Katra, district Reasi, who was on way towards Katra from Jammu in a Auto bearing registration No JK02BF-7168.
The accused person was arrested on the spot and illicit liquor and the auto used for carrying it, seized.
In this connection, a case FIR No 53/2016 under Section 48-A Act, 188/RPC stands registered at police station Katra and investigations of the case is in progress.
The arrest and recovery was made by a police team headed by Inspector Sanjeev Sharma, SHO police station Katra under the supervision of Dr Ashok Sharma, SDPO Katra, Sumir Kotwal, Additional SP Katra and overall supervision of Sujit Kumar, SSP Reasi,
