UDHAMPUR, Sept 7: One pedestrian was crushed to death by a rashly driven vehicle on the National Highway near Samroli while in a separate road accident, 13 persons were injured when a Tata Sumo rolled down.
According to the police reports, a pedestrian namely Angrez Singh (45), son of Daler Singh of Jib Thathi, was crushed to death by an unknown vehicle when he was walking on the road side near Samroli. He died on the spot.
Meanwhile, 13 persons were injured when a Tata Sumo rolled down into deep gorge near Khorgali Panchari.
The TATA Sumo, bearing registration number JK14B-577, was on its way from Khor Gali to Sari when it met with the accident. Locals and Police rushed to the spot and took the injured persons to Primary Health Center (PHC) Damnote in Panchari where doctors referred three of them to District Hospital Udhampur. They were identified as Chanchlo Devi (35) wife of Daler Singh of Sari, Ashok Kumar (30) son of Punjab Singh of Damnote and Khem Raj (38) of Braot.
Those admitted in Primary Health Center (PHC) Damnote, were identified as Geeta Devi, wife of Ramraj of Sari, Suneel Singh, son of Daler Singh of Sari, Shatru Singh, son of Sansar Singh of Sari, Karnal Singh, son of Shiv Ram of Kothi, Kamlesh Devi wife of Karnal Singh of Kothi, Santosh Kumari, daughter of Ram Lal of Sari, Chanchlo Devi wife of Lahar Singh of Sujan Dhar, Lahar Singh son of Karan Singh of Sujan Dhar and Naresh Kumar of Jammu, who is Hadmaster Damnote High School.
In a separate road mishap, three youth were injured when their Scooty skidded off the road near Krimchi Mansar Temple. The injured were identified as Abinash (17) son of Kaka Ram of Kashirha Udhampur, Mukash (20) son of Om Parkash of Roun Domal and Shubam (17) son of Dabander of Roun Domal.
