One killed, 4 injured as taxi plunges into gorge in Doda

JAMMU: One person was killed and four others got injured when their passenger taxi skidded off the road and plunged into a deep gorge in Doda district .

“A Tavera vehicle on way from village Bhatyas to Gandoh this morning plunged into 200-foot gorge near Army Check Post,” a police spokesman here said.

He said five people got injured, three of them critically, including one who succumbed to his injuries.

The injured were identified as Omi Chand, son of Ganga Dhar, resident of Alni Gangota, Kirna Devi, wife of Kuldeep, resident of Alni Gangota, Mohammad Ayaz, son of Mohammad Sharief, resident of Tandla, Ishtyaq, son of Abdullaha, resident of Budhli.

One of the injured identified as Shukar Din, son of Ahmadullaha, resident of Chanyas succumbed to his injuries.

The injured have been admitted to the district hospital, Doda. (AGENCIES)
