POONCH, Jan 8: A minor boy was killed after he was hit by a tipper near Bafliaz while five others were injured in a car accident near Surankote last evening.
A police spokesman said that 8-year-old Tohib Khan, son of Mohd Sharief, resident of Bafliaz was seriously injured after he was hit by a tipper on Bafliaz-Surankote road last evening. He was removed to Sub District Hospital, Surankote where doctors declared him as brought dead. Today his body was handed over to the family after postmortem. The police has registered a case in this connection.
Meanwhile, in a car accident near Jarranwali Gali in Surankote, five persons hailing from Mendhar were injured. They were removed to Sub District Hospital, Surankote where Dr Parvaiz Ahmed Khan (BMO) and others provided treatment and referred one of them to GMC Jammu for serious head injuries. The victims were identified as Asif Iqbal, Israr Ahmed, Asad Iqbal, Yasar Ahmed and Iftikhar Ahmed, hailing from Gohlad in Mendhar. Over speeding was said to be the reason behind the accident. The police has taken cognizance.
