JAMMU, Feb 22: A man died due to electrocution in Akalpur area of city outskirts while a tea stall employee suffered serious burn injuries due to electrocution here near DC office.
According to a police spokesperson, a man identified as Rakesh Kumar son of Bhagwan Dass of Bhaderwah, at present living in Akalpur area falling within the limits of police station, Domana, came in contact with a live wire at his residence, late last night, following which he was shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where he was declared as brought dead.
Today after completing all medico-legal formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites.
Meanwhile, a tea stall employee today received a severe electric shock with from an electric heater here near DC Office. According to the reports, the man identified as Purshotam Lal of Ramnagar was cooking some food on an electric heater in his rented room adjacent to the tea stall (near DC Office), where he used to work, when he came in contact with a live wire and received severe electric shock.
In unconscious condition, he was shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where his condition was stated to be stable till the last reports came in.
The concerned police had taken cognizance of the matter.
