One killed, four injured in road mishaps

JAMMU, June 21: A youth was killed while four other people were injured in two separate road mishaps in outskirts of this winter capital of the State.
A youth identified as Ashok Kumar son of Bansi Lal (20), resident of Panthal (Katra), was killed on the spot while two of his accomplices namely Rinku (21) and Akshay Kumar, both residents of Panthal (Katra), were injured seriously when the bike bearing registration number JK019-3536 on which they were travelling, was hit by an unknown vehicle at Channi, late last night.
The injured were shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu while the body of the deceased was shifted to mortuary room of the hospital. After completing all medico-legal formalities, the body of the deceased was today handed over to his legal heirs for last rites. A case in this connection was registered at police station Channi Himmat and investigations were underway.
Meanwhile, a father and his son were injured today when the bike on which they were travelling, was hit by an unknown vehicle at Domail area falling within the limits of police station Jhajjar Kotli. The injured have been identified as Shahnawaz son of Sadiq, resident of Peerkho, Jammu and his son Babul. Both the injured were shifted to GMCH Jammu for treatment. The concerned police had taken cognizance of the matter.
