SAMBA, Dec 5: A person was killed after a trailer rammed into two vehicles, this evening.
According to information available, around 6 pm, an over speeded trailer bearing registration number PB05M-5992 on way to Jammu from Kathua, rammed into two vehicles including a truck (JK03B 4245) and an Alto Car JK21B- 1230, after hitting a person, crossing the road at Main Chowk in Samba. The police team rushed to spot and shifted the injured to the District Hospital Samba, where he was declared as brought dead.
According to the eyewitnesses, the speedy trailer after crossing the divider of the road hits two other vehicles as a pedestrian was trapped between the vehicles and knocked to the death. The traffic on the busy Jammu-Pathankot National Highway also remained disrupted following the accident which was restored more than two hours.
The deceased has been identified as Panch Ram, son of Sahu Chamaro Sahu, resident of Chhattisgarh, at present Arazi Samba. A case has been registered in Police Station Samba and investigations are on. The people of the area have also expressed grave resentment over the increasing accidents at Samba Chowk and accused the Traffic Police for their failure in regulating and maintaining a check on traffic on National Highway.
