One killed, six injured in road mishaps

JAMMU, June 14: One person was killed while six others were injured today in separate road mishaps in city and its outskirts
According to a police spokesman, an unidentified Oil tanker this morning hit a motorcycle bearing registration number JK02BM-7828, which further hit a scooty (registration number (JK02BT-3394). In the mishap, which occurred near Stephens School in the jurisdiction of police station Miran Sahib, one of the occupants of the bike was killed on the spot and another got injured while the scooty rider was also injured.
The body of the deceased identified as Arjun Choudhary son of Sansar Chand, resident of RS Pura, was taken to SDH RS Pura, where after conducting post mortem, it was handed over to its legal heirs for last rites while the injured persons (whose identity could not be ascertained) were shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu, for treatment.
Two women pedestrians Darshana Devi (36) wife of Pawan Kumar and Vidya Devi (50) wife of Hans Raj, resident of Bantalab, sustained injuries when they were hit by a rashly driven bike at Shalamar. Both the injured were shifted to GMCH Jammu.
At Nagrota, two persons identified as Abdul Hafiz (28) son of Attahula, resident of Doda and Sanjay Kumar (30) son of Des Raj, resident of Kandoli (Nagrota) were injured in the collision of two bikes. They were taken to GMCH for treatment.
In all three cases, the concerned police had taken cognizance.
