One killed, two injured in road mishaps

JAMMU, Apr 6: One person was killed while two others were injured today in two separate road mishaps in city outskirts.
According to a police spokesperson, a youth identified as Salman (27) son of Mohd Yasin, a resident of Uttar Pradesh and another unknown youth was seriously injured this morning when the bike bearing registration number JK02AB-9156 on which they were travelling, was hit by a rashly driven truck bearing registration number JK02AJ-9237 in front of Yard No 2, Narwal.
Both the injured were immediately shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where Salman succumbed to his injuries after few hours while the condition of the other youth, whose identity could not be ascertained yet, was stated to be stable till the last reports came in.
The body of the deceased youth was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites after completing all medico-legal formalities. A case in this connection was registered at concerned police station and both the vehicles involved in the mishap seized whereas the accused truck driver managed to escape from the spot and was absconding.
Meanwhile, a bike-borne youth was injured when the bike bearing registration number JK14D-6688 on which he was travelling was hit by a truck bearing registration number JK20U-0377 driven by Jagjeet Singh son of Awtar Singh, a resident of Simbal Morh, RS Pura, near Salora in Jhajjar Kotli area. The injured was hospitalized for treatment.
On this instance, a case FIR number 43/2016 under Sections 279/337 RPC was registered and the accused truck driver arrested.
