JAMMU, Sept 6: Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) has selected J&K’s ace cricketer Shivansh Sharma for the prestigious scholarship for the year 2023-24 to support his endeavour of pursuing a career in cricket.
The scholarship was granted by ONGC solely to promote the game and the grant of scholarship is valid for the period from 01-04-2023 to 03-03-2024. Presently Shivansh is part of the 15-member JKCA U-23 Men’s team which is proceeding for the JP Attray Memorial Cricket Tournament to be held at Chandigarh from September 20. The Sub Committee Members of JKCA including Brig Anil Gupta, former Cricketer Mithun Manhas and Advocate Sunil Sethi have appreciated Shivansh for this landmark achievement.
As per the letter issued to Shivansh by ONGC, he will be paid Rs 25,000 per month (all inclusive) and may avail individual health insurance cover for Rs 5,00,000 (for self only) covering all kinds of injuries, the premium up to Rs 7,000 shall be reimbursed by ONGC on production of original receipt.
