JAMMU, June 10: An online competition on ‘Teaching Science by Activity Method’ was organised today by Government College of Education (GCoE) Jammu to practice and inculcate pupil-teacher skills of teaching science.
The aim of the competition was to make scientific concepts clear to the students by performing various activities.
Speaking on the occasion, College Principal, Professor (Dr) Kulvinder Kaur stressed upon the concept of learning by doing for better understanding of the concepts and making science subject more interesting to the students. In this event 4th semester students of the College participated enthusiastically.
Dr Jyoti Parihar, Convenor of Bio-Science Club highlighted that the need of the hour is construction of knowledge rather than only communication thereof.
The competition was adjudged by Prof (Dr) Neelam Dhar, (Dr) Rajinder Kaur and Professor Shalini Rana.
The first prize was bagged by Aditi Kalhuria, while 2nd prize was shared by Bidushi Sharma and Jyoti Katoch and Neha Sharma bagged 3rd prize, whereas the consolation prize was awarded to Saboora Mushtaq of Semester-1.
