JAMMU, Sept 25: Ramakrishna Mission in collaboration with Zeishtha Devi Prabandakh Committee and Kashmiri Pandit Sabha organised online essay writing competition for the children of minority communities residing in Kashmir valley either at their homes or at displaced camp.
The competition was organised for two categories including senior (for 10th to 12th classes) and junior (6th to 9th standard) on the topics ‘Why I Love Swami Vivekananda?’ and ‘My Village, My Mohalla’.
About 108 entries were received, out of which 62 children sent their essays on the given topics. The event was judged by KK Khosa, president of Kashmiri Pandit Sabha; MK Bharat, Poet and Satish Vimal, Poet and Producer.
First prize was bagged by Sheen Pandit resident of Mattan whereas the 2nd and 3rd prizes were won by Pandith Kuldeep of Chittergul and Suraj Bhat of Habba Kadal in senior category. Kadambari Bhat of Mattan, Riddakshi Ganjoo and Vishali Ganjoo from Lajoora clinched 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes in junior category on the topic, ‘Why I Love Swami Vivekananda?’
On the topic of ‘My Village My Mohalla’ the first prize was won by Megha Bhat of Murran Pulwama while 2nd and 3rd prizes were clinched by Vineet Tickoo and Megha Bhat both from Habba Kadal Srinagar in senior category. Rohit Dhar, Mrinali Tickoo both from Mattan and Nandita Pandita of Vessu secured 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes respectively in junior category.
Two special category prizes were also given to Arnav Pandita from Indra Nagar Srinagar and Aahana Bhat from Pohru Nowgam in Hindi languages.
Consolidated prizes were awarded to Ronita Sharma, Rashmi Raina, Aahana Bhat, Diya Mattoo, Mehak Bhan and Ronak Bhat.
Prizes were distributed by Swami Ritamananda, secretary of Ramakrishna Mission Srinagar.
