Online inter-collegiate level competitions organised

JAMMU, June 24: Various Govt Degree Colleges today organised online inter-college competitions on different topics for college students.
Government Degree College Bishnah conducted an online open competition on creative poetry writing.
About 53 entries were received in five languages. Grey written by Shailey Singh, RIE Bhubaneswar; Curdle by Ujjwala Bhushan, RIE Bhubaneswar and The Gift of Seperation by Soleya Rashid, NIT Srinagar were awarded 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions respectively in English language.
In Hindi, Sapna written by Raman Kumar of GDC Samba and untitled poem of Rishika Randhawa of PG Govt Degree College for Women, Gandhi Nagar shared 1st position.
In Punjabi, Kudrat written by Ramandeep Kour, Punjabi University Patiala and Parchaavan written by Harsimran Singh of Jammu University clinched 1st and 2nd positions respectively whereas in Dogri, nine poems were received wherein Jeevan- Katha written by Heena Choudhary of University of Jammu and Meri Dadi written by Mamta Sharma of GDC Jourian adjudged 1st and 2nd respectively.
In Urdu language, five entries were received in which three were disqualified on account of plagiarism whereas two were inadequate for the competition.
The adjudicators were Dr Amit Ranjan (English), Dr Liaqat Jafri (Urdu), Assistant Prof Kamal Jeet Choudhary (Hindi), Swami Antar Neerav (Pahari & Punjabi) and Rajinder Ranja (Dogri).
Govt Degree College Neeli Nalla Udhampur organised different competitions including essay writing, perfect Yoga Asans and Yoga video making competitions under the supervision of College Principal, Dr Satinder Kaur.
Many students from various colleges and different streams participated in these events. E-certificates were provided to the winners of trio events.
The events were organised Prof Binny Kumar, Ambica Gupta, Dr Mushtaq, Shallu Devi and Schweta Rani.
An international webinar on “Physical Literacy, Yoga and Sports Science” was organized by Department of Physical Education and Sports, GDC Mahanpur Kathua.
The programme started with formal introduction by the organizing secretary and Physical Director Dr J S Soodan. A welcome address was presented by College Principal, Dr Rakesh Kumar Koul.
The webinar was attended by participants from 45 foreign countries. The webinar was organized in collaboration with International Federation of Physical Education Fitness and Sports Science Associations (IFPEFSSA) and Indian Federation of Computer Science in Sports (IFCSS).
The foreign speakers who delivered their lectures were Dr Erika Zemkova, University of Bratislava, Slovakia Dr. Lim Boon Hooi, University of Malaya, Malaysia and Dr Kaukam Azeem, Saudi Arabia.
Dr Rajesh Kumar, president IFPEFSSA, Dr Gurdeep Singh, AIU, Dr Ashok Kumar PUP were among the panellists whereas Dr Rina Poonia, MUJ, and Capt (Dr) BS Punia and Dr R Subramanian were moderated during webinar.
The programme ended with the vote of thanks by Dr Rajesh Kumar.
