Online poetry competition organised

JAMMU, June 10: Government Polytechnic College, Bikram Chowk, here today organised an online poetry competition as a part of campaign “Defeat COVID-19” competition-VIII.
The students were advised to submit their original poems in English, Hindi and Urdu to an email id along with their names and other details.
Director Skill Development Department J&K, Sajad Hussain Ganai appreciated the efforts of the college in organizing many activities and competitions since lockdown as a part of campaign ‘Defeat COVID-19’ to engage the students as it would help them in overcoming their fears about spread of COVID-19 and would also bring out the creativity of the students.
Principal of the College, Er Arun Bangotra lauded the participation of all the Students in the poetry competition and said that best poems would be published in the forthcoming 5th edition of the College annual magazine, ASPIRE.
The first position of the competition went to Apurva Mishra, 2nd semester of Information Technology for her poem “Prakrti”. The second position was shared by Sahil Bhat, 6th semester Computer Engineering for poem “Corona or Karma” and Rohit Kumar Attri, 2nd semester Civil Engineering for his poem “Baal Mazdoor” whereas the 3rd prize was also shared by Girish Kumar, 2nd semester, Civil Engineering for poem “Story of Earth” and Ashish Balotra, 6th semester, Electrical Engineering for poem “Carona and Quarantine.”
The competition was judged by faculty members including Lecturer, Vandana Chib, Demonstrator, Devika Bhardwaj and Demonstrator, Saba Sheikh.
