JAMMU, Apr 28: Open Chess Championship for men and women concluded at Hotel Nek, here today.
Kamal Gupta of Kamal Industries was the chief guest on the occasion, while the FIDE Arbiter was the chief arbiter for this event.
The chief guest along with Baldev Raj, secretary All J&K Chess Association distributed cash prize among the winners.
Top two players in men and women section will represent J&K State in forthcoming Nationals.
Meenal Gupta who won the women’s event also participated in men’s event and stood fourth.
Sumit Grover, Maxim Singh, Pranav Sharma and Meenal Gupta secured the top four positions in the men’s category respectively, while the top four positions in women’s category were claimed by Meenal Gupta, Arushi Kotwal, Sumeksha Sharma and Deepika respectively.
