LEH, Nov 20: Five days Open Indoor Tournament organised by Police in collaboration with Department of Youth Services and Sports under concluded at Indoor Stadium.
In the tournament, large number of players drawn from various section of the society including students, youths and others participated in various disciplines including Badminton, Table Tennis, Chess, Carom Board and Kabaddi disciplines.
On the occasion, Executive Councilor for Agriculture, Sonam Dorjey was chief guest, who while speaking, mentioned about the opening of a separate police range for Ladakh region for which efforts are being made at State level.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Vivak Gupta said that the main aim of organising the tournament was to motivate and involve youths in various games so as to make them both physically and mentally strong and build a better public relation in the society.
President, Badminton and Table Tennis Federation, PT Kunzang highlighted various issues and demands pertaining to Indoor Stadium like construction of generator shed, maintenance of stadium, providing toilet and drinking water facilities and indoor games equipments.
Later, EC, Sonam Dorjey distributed prizes and certificates to the winners and runner-ups.
