JAMMU, Dec 19: A two-day long Open Jammu Taekwondo Championship commenced here today at Indoor Sports Complex Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu. Ritika Salathia, Manager JKSC, Indoor Sports Complex Bhagwati Nagar Jammu was the chief guest.
The Championship was held under the emblem of My Youth My Pride and was organized by J&K Taekwondo Association under the aegis of Taekwondo Federation of India and J&K Sports Council (JKSC).
As per statement, the first day witnessed a massive combative skill show between the Cadets and Sub-Junior Athletes in both male and female categories. More than 450 players participated in different weight categories from different Schools and Clubs of Jammu Division.
The Championship was headed by Rajesh Pangotra, President of JKTA. All the Medallists will represent J&K in the forthcoming Open National Taekwondo Championships – 2023 organized by the Taekwondo Federation of India held at Jaipur, Rajasthan.
