JAMMU, June 30: An open singing competition of Punjabi was organized by Department of Punjabi, Government College for Women Gandhi Nagar here.
Students from different colleges within J&K Union Territory participated. The event was judged by Vijay Yamla, Grandson of legendary singer, Lal Chand Yamla Jatt from Punjab and Singer Narinder Singh Wazir from J&K.
Navleen Kour of GCW Gandhi Nagar and Chanpreet Kour of Department of Punjabi, University of Jammu shared 1st position. Mukesh Rani of GCW Gandhi Nagar and Tegdhar Kour Student of Sant Mela Singh College Digiana shared 2nd position and the third position was shared by Hitesh of SPMR College of Commerce, Jasleen Kour of GCW Gandhi Nagar and Arpanjot Kaur of GCW Gandhi Nagar.
Binishpal Kour and Avneet Kour shared 4th position whereas Gurvinder Kour, Harpreet Kour and Ritika Aggarwal of GCW Gandhi Nagar secured 5th, 6th and 7th positions respectively.
The Competition was conducted under guidance of the College Principal, Dr Ravinder Tickoo, HoD Punjabi Dr Surjeet Kour.
