KISHTWAR, July 10: A social activist and Chairman Chinar Power Projects Workers Union district Kishtwar, Joginder Bhandari has demanded immediate starting of Government Degree College for Paddar.
Bhandari has said that the people of Paddar have been crying for the last two decades for grant of Degree College to Paddar but it is a matter of great concern that their demands were not fulfilled by the Government.
He said that hundreds of boys and girls after passing their HSS part-II from Government Higher Secondary School Atholi Paddar have to give up their further studies due to the non availbality of Degree College.
Bhandari informed that the people of this far flung area are totally dependent upon labouring work and in such circumstances they can not afford to continue the studies of their children to higher classes.
He also said that during elections, the leaders visit their villages in Paddar area and makes promises that they will start Degree College in Paddar and after getting votes their demand of college remain unfilled.
Bhandari has urged the Chief Minister Mehboobha Mufti Ji to grant Degree College for Paddar so that their children may not suffer for want of higher education.
