REASI, Apr 16: More than 100 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel today donated blood at a blood donation camp organized here at Bidda.
Commandant, 126 Battalion, Randeep Sharma was among the senior officers who donated blood in the camp organized at Battalion headquarters, Bidda, on the occasion of its raising day.
Sharma said that the camp was organized as a part of the commitment made by the Force to provide blood to Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) Jammu to cope up with the shortage of blood.
More than 117 members of CRPF, including senior officers, voluntarily participated in the camp.
Speaking on the occasion, Sharma said, “CRPF is always committed to its social responsibility and more blood donation camps would be organized in future also.”
The enthusiasm of the donors was infectious and many more jawans trooped in to volunteer. The IRCS team was led by Naveent Kaur, Director, IRCS Jammu, and ably supported by volunteers.
Later, a plantation drive was also held by the officers and jawans of the unit.
