SAMBA, June 3: District Judo Championship concluded today in district coaching centre, Samba in which over 100 Judokas participated.
The one day championship was organized by Samba District Judo Association (SDJA) under the aegis of J&K Sports Council and J&K Olympic Association. Vikas Gupta, Vice-President Judo Federation of India (JFA) was the chief guest in the opening ceremony while Gul-e-Surkhab (Asian Medallist) graced the closing ceremony event and also presented medals and certificates to the winners and participants.
Shamshudin, Manager, Samba Stadium and Suraj Sharma (general secretary JKJA) were the guests of honour. The officiated bouts were Arshi Nad (Sr. Judo Coach JKSC), Manish Chatwal Judo Instructor, Rahul, Satya Devi, Roshni Sharma & Neha.
The Judokas who won gold medals include Mehak Slathia, Ritika, Tamana, Pari Devi, Anshika, Jiya, Tania Thapa, Monika, Sonu, Pankaj Sharma, Varun, Sourabh, Akash, Ayush Slathia, Naman Hansa, Vikram Sharma, Pushpash, Pankaj, Kailash Chand, Vikram Sharma and Sat Pal.
While the silver medalists were Shivani, Karuna, Prarena Kohli, Isha Devi, Atlju Kousar, Ritanjli, Saniya Hansa, Mamta, Yashwant, Jayant Mehra, Shanu Chachotra, Amjad, Aman Badyal, Kailash Chand, Aditya Sharma, Ranjeet Singh, Kavya Kumar, Kailash Chand and Aditya Sharma.
Isha Devi, Arushi, Simran Choudhary, Mohini Devi, Girish, Virat, Deepak, Nitin Kohli, Manik, Harsh, Prithvi Sharma, Rohit and Ranbir bagged bronze medals in the competition.
