KISHTWAR, Nov 7: Continuing the effort of nurturing sports talent of local youths and encouraging the young minds to participate in constructive activities, Paddar Volleyball Championship, organised by Indian Army at Padhyarna and Gulabgarh, concluded here today.
The tournament was inaugurated by the Commanding Officer 17-RR (Maratha LI) at Gulabgarh on October 20. The tournament witnessed an overwhelming participation of teams from all Panchayats of Paddar and Nagseni blocks.
The final match was played between Nagseni Strikers & Paddar Royals at Padhyarna, wherein former emerged as winner of the tournament and clinched the title trophy.
The winning team led by Aneek Ashraf was awarded the title trophy, while Sohan Chouhan of Paddar Royals was awarded the trophy for best spikier along with cash prizes.
Speaking on the occasion, Commanding Officer, 17 RR (Maratha Li) appreciated all teams for coming out and participating in the tournament.
The officials from Youth Services and Sports Department Kishtwar, local Sarpanches and Panches and Government officials were present during the event.
