JAMMU, July 31: To create awareness about environment and its conservation among children, Jiyo Aur Jeene Do (NGO) organised a painting competition.
Large number of children participated in the competition with enthusiasm and expressed their imaginations beautifully on the paper and also suggested different ideas for conservation of environment.
In the competition, first prize was won by Ishita Batra, while second prize was secured by Ali Saqlen and third prize was clinched by Kritika. A special prize was awarded to little talented girl Akshita Sharma for her beautiful painting. Two special prizes were awarded to active volunteers of the NGO namely Krishna and Tanya Batra.
The Judges were Rajguru, Maqbool Shah, Bharat Bhushan and Nisha Mahajan.
While speaking, president of the NGO Tariq Shah said that they organised the painting competition with a motive to draw attention of children towards environment and its conservation. “Our NGO wishes to provide a platform to children to express their talents. Nowadays youth is getting attracted towards addictions and other such evils and by participating in such activities and competitions, children will develop good habits and remain away from all kinds of evils”, he added.
He informed that in the coming days, NGO would organize more programme even for the rural children.
In the end, Shah presented vote of thanks.
The members of NGO namely Vijay, Sanjay, Anu, Priya, Kusum, Anuradha, Dev and others were also present on the occasion.
