JAMMU, Nov 22: Central Ground Water Board, Ministry of Water Resources River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation organized a “7th State Level Painting Competition on Water Conservation in Jammu and Kashmir at Brig Rajinder Singh Auditorium, University of Jammu, here.
The theme of the Competition was “Save Water Save Earth”.
50 selected students (from school level painting competition) of 6th, 7th and 8th standards from schools of Jammu & Kashmir State participated in this Competition.
The first prize of Rs 5,000, second prize of Rs. 3,000 and third prize of Rs 2,000 was awarded Raghav Dabgotra of class 8th from MV International School Vijaypur, Ashutosh Kumar of class 7th from Siwalik School Nagrota and Rhythm Jain of class 8th of Delhi Public School Jammu, respectively. A consolation prize of Rs. 1000 each was been given to the 10 participants.
Professor Desh Bhandu, Dean Academics Affairs University of Jammu ws the chief guest, while Mohd. Javed, Joint Director School Education Jammu was the guest of honour, Dr. Uma Kapoor Regional Director Central Ground Water Board Jammu, coordinator J N Bhagat Scientist-‘D’ and Jury Member Rakesh Sharma distributed the prizes among the winners.
The proceedings of the programme was conducted by Priya Kanwar, Scientist CGWB Jammu.
The vote of thanks was presented by Dr Sudheer Kumar, Scientist Central Ground water Board Jammu.
