JAMMU, Apr 21: Pakistani Rangers today again fired along the International Border (IB) in Samba sector in an apparent bid to scare away a leopard on their side, even as BSF troops retaliated, taking no chance of any kind of infiltration attempt by the militants.
Official sources said Pakistani Rangers fired a few rounds along IB in Samba sector area early this morning.
BSF troops also fired back, sources said, adding that the troops saw a leopard later which could have been a reason for the Pakistani Rangers to open firing as leopard, which has sneaked into Pakistani side of the International Border opposite Regal Post of Samba sector, was repeatedly trying to enter inside the Pakistani posts.
However, no one was injured in the firing, sources said, adding that this was third incident of firing by the Pakistani Rangers at Regal and Chilyari in Samba sector. In first act, the BSF hadn’t retaliated but during last two incidents, the BSF fired back.
Sources said the BSF was not taking any chances anticipating that the Pakistani Rangers could try to push infiltrators into the Indian territory under the cover of targeting leopard.
