JAMMU, June 28: Panun Kashmir (PK) Political Affairs Committee held a meeting here at Jammu today. The meeting was presided over by the president-PK and Chairman, Political Affairs Committee, Verinder Raina.
The others who attended the meeting included Upinder Kaul, general secretary , Kamal Bagati, general secretary (Org.), Ashok Chrungoo, treasurer, Sameer Bhat, convenor PK Youth, S. K. Bhat, B L Garyali and P K Durani.
It expresses satisfaction over the recent US report indicting Pakistan for supporting terrorism. The report says that following Pulwama, Pakistan took some modest steps to curb terror financing but it proved to be an eye wash only to hoodwink the world bodies like FATF.
The threat of FATF also does not seem to be working as the financial action task force continues to keep it in the grey list whereas Pakistan deserves to be put in the black list immediately .The cosmetic steps that Pakistan takes before the sessions of the FATF are only to escape being put in the black list and consequential financial squeeze.
The current report needs to be taken as a final nail in the coffin of the epicentre of global Islamic terrorism, Pakistan, which needs immediate sanctions to stop proliferation of terrorism globally and cross border terrorism in India.
PK expressed concern that amid lockdown due to COVID-19 the terror industry in Pakistan is unaffected due to the worldwide lockdown since the support by the Pak Army and the ISI to terrorism is continuing unabated.
Panun Kashmir appreciated the Home Ministry proposal to withhold its sanction to the scheme of scholarship to the orphans of the terrorists.
Experience suggests that terrorism can only be dealt with an iron hand and any kid glove policy proves counter productive in the long run. They deserve to be placed in rehabilitation centres so that their hearts get changed and they shun the immoral path taken by their parents. The scheme in itself should be annulled fully.
It said the valiant security forces have neutralised hundreds of terrorists in the last few months giving a crushing blow to the Pak sponsored terrorism. There is a need to completely cleanse the Kashmir Valley from this menace so that the resettlement of Kashmiri Pandits in their homeland can become a reality.
