JAMMU: Pakistani Rangers today violated ceasefire by firing two rounds along international border while a rusted mortar was found in a riverbed in Samba district.
“Pakistani Rangers violated ceasefire by firing two rounds of small arm on BSF Patawal Border Outpost in Ramgarh Sector of Samba at around 0630 hours ,” official sources here said.
They said that no casualty or damage was reported so far, while BSF did not retaliate to the firing.
Meanwhile a rusted mortar was also recovered from river bed in Samba. “A 81 mm mortar was found this morning from River Basantar,” police sources here said.
They said that Bomb Disposal Squad was pressed into service and the mortar was diffused on the spot.
“It was a rusted device and seems that got washed away and reached river bed,” they said. (AGENCIES)
