Paliwal inaugurates 42nd KVS National Science, Mathematics, Environment Exhibition

JAMMU, Apr 19: 42nd KVS Jawaharlal Nehru National Science, Mathematics and Environment Exhibition was inaugurated by Anil Paliwal, Inspector General BSF and Punjab Frontier at Kendriya Vidyalaya No-2 Jalandhar Cantt.
The inaugural function was organized in the Auditorium of BD Arya Girls College Jalandhar Cantt.
Five hundred thirty four participants with their escorts from all the 25 Regions of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan including the Kendriya  Vidyalayas of KVS, Jammu Region situated in J&K, parts of Punjab and Himachal Pradesh, are participating in this National level  event of KVS. Padamshri Vijay Chopra, Chief Editor Punjab Kesri, Jalandhar, Dr. Sarita Verma Principal B.D. Arya Girls College Jalandhar Cantt, Dr. J.S Thind, Thind Eye Hospital and Ms. Parminder Berry Social Activist Red Cross Society were the guests of honour on this occasion.
The Programme started with lighting of ceremonial lamp by the chief guest and other dignitaries.
Saraswati Vandna was presented by the School Children as a mark of respect.
Formal welcome address was extended by A.V.L.J Rao, Deputy Commissioner KVS Jammu Region.
Cultural items were presented by the students of Kendriya Vidyalaya’s 1, 2, 3 and 4 Suranussi and Saraikhas of Jalandhar Cluster.
In his welcome address Mr Rao said that Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan is rendering its services in the field of education in the country and abroad at mass level.
While speaking on this occasion, the chief guest, Mr Paliwal drew the attention of the audience towards the great contribution of Indian Scientists, Mathematicians and Astrologists as to make an impact on the future generations of the whole world.
A S Gill, Assistant Commissioner KVS Jammu Region extended the vote of thanks.
During his address, he thanked the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan for selecting KVS Jammu Region to Conduct 42nd KVS Jawaharlal Nehru National Science, Mathematics & Environment Exhibition in Jammu Region.
Meena, Assistant Commissioner KVS Jammu Region, Mahesh Gupta, Executive Member, International Vaish Federation,  Sneh Gupta, vice president Cantonment Board, Retired Principals of local KV’s, Principals of neighbouring KV’s and other educationists, scientists and social workers attended the inaugural function.
The Exhibits, Models and Projects on the theme of the Exhibition -Science and Mathematics for a Sustainable World, were displayed for judgement of the entries under six sub themes namely Community Health & Environment, Landmarks in Science and Mathematics, Innovation and Communication Technology, Energy – Resources and Conservation ,Transport and Waste Management.
The models and exhibits out of these works will be selected for participation in National Science Exhibition to be held in the near future.
