JAMMU, Apr 21: Pallavi Sharma, Shilpa Charak and Aman Dogra, all from Shining Star Academy, Muthi, lifted Girls, Sub Junior Boys and Girls titles respectively on the concluding day of the 13th Jammu District Sport Climbing Championship, being organised by Mountaineering Association of J&K at Sprawling Buds School.
The titles in the Boys, Mini Boys and Mini Girls categories were won by climbers of Oriental Academy, Banyan International School and Shangrilla Higher Secondary School, respectively.
Ram Narayan of Banyan International School created an upset by defeating his more fancied climbers in the Mini Boys category and Poorvi Sharma of Shangrilla Higher Secondary School powered her way to the top position. However, Abhishek Slathia, a senior State climber, faced tough competition from fresh climbers to retain his title.
Meanwhile, in Udhampur and Reasi district sport climbing competitions, the results in both the competitions were almost on expected lines with senior climbers claiming most of the positions. However, there was a fierce competition among three senior climbers in the Boys category of the Udhampur district competition in which Sumit Singh emerged victorious in the super final.
On the valedictory function, Jugal Kishore Sharma, MLC was the chief guest, who along with guests of honour Prof Lalit Magotra, President Dogri Sanstha and Sanjeet Khajuria, Assistant Director, Door Darshan Kendra, distributed prizes among the winners.
Among others present were Ram Khajuria, Secretary, Yogeshwar Sharma, Vice President of Mountaineering Association of J&K, Rahul Sharma, Ramesh Khajuria and Arti Sharma, Directors of Sprawling Buds School, Shawetica Khajuria, National Judge, Navneet Gupta, Sumit Khajuria, Vishav Mohan Sharma, etc.
Final Result:
In Girls, Pallavi Sharma, Muskan Abrol and Vaishali Misra emerged winners.
In Sub Junior Girls, Shilpa Charak, Anshu Pandita and Nitya Sharma registered wins.
In Mini Girls, Poorvi Sharma, Asma Gul and Nikita Sharma claimed top three ranks.
In Boys, Abhishek Slathia, Ashish Thakur and Hardev Singh emerged winners.
In Sub Junior Boys, Aman Dogra, Sourav Deep Singh and Aditya Kumar registered wins.
In Mini Boys, Ram Narayan, Pragun Khajuria and Sanyam Bhat emerged winners.
In Men, Sohrab, Kashif Rashid Mughal and Sushil Sharma claimed top three ranks.
Udhampur District:
In Boys, Sumit Singh, Bhanu Partap Singh and Abhey Singh emerged winners.
In Sub Junior Boys, Anmol, Aryan Sharma and Prikshit Balotra registered wins.
In Mini Boys, Sudhansh Verma, Pankaj Singh and Ayush Jamwal emerged winners.
In Girls, Roopali Verma, Luxmi and Vanshika Gomdyan claimed top three ranks.
In Sub Junior Girls, Avantika, Aksa Shah and Kavisha Regra registered wins.
In Mini Girls, Sonali Rajput, Ananya Gupta and Shagun Sharma registered wins.

In Boys, Javed Mir, Muzamal Wani and Ajay Kumar emerged winners.
In Sub Junior Boys, Sajad Mir, Vikas Singh and Mehjour Ahmad claimed top three ranks.
