KATHUA, Aug 28: Organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Abhiyan entered second day at Sports Stadium Hiranagar, today.
A total of 50 players drawn from seven Panchayats of Hiranagar Block participated in the disciplines of Kho Kho, Athletics and Swimming.
Panchayat Chhan Khatrian lifted the title of Kho Kho Under-16 girls by defeating Panchyat Marheen. Panchayat Loundi remained the overall champion of the Athletics and Rimpy of this Panchayat was declared as the best athlete.
The matches were officiated by Avnesh Kumar, Krishan Chand, Narinder Singh, Mohan Lal, Naresh Kumar, Darshan Kumar, Omkar Singh and Rakesh Kumar Raju.
Sanjeev Sunny and Rajkarni were also present.
In 100 mtrs girls, Preeti Devi of Chhan Khatrian got first position, Rakhi Devi of Marheen second and Siya Rani of Suba Chack claimed third, while in 400 meters, Rimpi Devi of Loundi was declared first, Suman of Kattal Brahmna second and Bindu Devi of Marheen third.
In 800 meters, Preeti Devi of Chhan Khatrian won gold, Makhanu of Marheen bagged silver and Shivani of Subachack claimed bronze, while in Shot Put, Priya Hansa of Marheen bagged first, Rimpy of Loundi second and Anu Devi of Chhan Khatrian third position and in Discus Throw, Rimpy of Loundi won gold, Neha of Marheen clinched silver and Anu of Chhan Khatrian bagged bronze.
High Jump gold went to Rimpy of Panchyat Loundi, silver to Renu of Kattal Brahmana and bronze to Neha of Marheen, while in Long Jump, Suman Devi of Panchayat Kattal Brahmana stood first, Bindu of Marheen second and Suriya Devi, third and in Swimming 50 meters Free Style, Sunaina of Panchyat Jandi got first position and Renu Devi of Katta Brahmana got second position.
In Back Stroke 50 meter, Renu Devi of Kattal Brahmana got first position and Sunaina of Jandi second.
