Panthers Party confers bravery award to 2 youth for catching militant alive

JAMMU, Aug 8: Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party today conferred bravery award to two youths who caught alive the Udhampur attack militant on August 5.
Terming both Vikramjeet and Rakesh Kumar, residents of Narsu, Udhampur district as “Pride of Dogras”, Balwant Singh Mankotia Ex- MLA and State president JKNPP today conferred them with Panthers Bravery Award and presented a cash reward of Rs 21000 to each youth for displaying explicit courage and bravery by capturing a LeT ultra alive following the militant attack on BSF convoy at Samroli at a function held here.
The “Panthers Bravery Award” contains the logo of General Zorawar Singh which symbolizes the revival of the pristine Dogra Heritage which is famous for its bravery and valour.
Praising the young men, Mankotia said both of them were bare hands when they had performed a daring act while overpowering the Pakistani militant Mohammad Naved Yaqub alias Qasim in the forests of Narsu.
He said the youth have become the mentors of bravery besides source of inspiration for the entire young fraternity of Jammu Pradesh and maintained that the people of Jammu blatantly condemn the act of terror of any kind.
He said the people of the region are patriots and nationalists who have vowed for curbing the menace for the restoration of peace and normalcy in the region besides sacrificing their lives for the motherland.
Eulogizing the valiant act of both the youth hailing from Udhampur, Mankotia recommended them for the “Rashtrapati Award” and exhorted the State Government to provide them regular jobs in Police Department or equivalent.
Among others present were Gagan Pratap Singh, Sunil Paroch, Mohinder Pal Singh Pandu, Muneesh Sharma, Madan Lal Sharma, Jeevan Kumar Sharma, Jeet Kerni, Suraj Prakash, KD Singh, etc.
