AKHNOOR, Oct 29: Parade Sports Association XI defeated Royal Cricket Club Akhnoor in an easy contest by 6 wickets in the Veteran Cricket Cup Akhnoor, being organized by Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor at Government Higher Secondary School ground, here today.
Earlier, batting first RCC Akhnoor bundled out for a paltry total of 91 runs in 17.2 overs. Anil Sahrma top scored with 21 runs, while Ranjeet Kumar, Vinod and Shindi contributed 15, 13 and 11 runs respectively. From Parade Sports Association Jammu, Sanjay Sharma was the wrecker-in-chief, who took 4 important wickets, while Rajinder bagged 2 wickets. Akshay Khajuria, Randhir Singh, Altaf and Shahid shared 1 wicket each.
In reply, Parade Sports Association scored 92/4 in 14.1overs, thus won the match by 6 wickets. Rupender Singh scored 31 runs, while Altaf and Sandeep Singh (Sunny) remained unbeaten on 19 and 10 runs respectively. From Royal Cricket Club Akhnoor, Rakesh Malhotra and Ravi Verma shared 2 wickets each. Sanjay Sharma was adjudged as man of the match.
Rajinder Sharma and Joginder Mangotra were the umpires, while Raman Sharma was the scorer.
The Tournament is being held under the overall supervision of Kr. Sham Singh Langeh, President Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor.
