*Team ‘A’ thrashes Parshuram XI in football to win title

JAMMU, Oct 23: Outplaying their rivals convincingly in their respective semifinals, Paradise XI and Legal Star XI have sealed berth in the finals today and will lock horns against each other in the summit clash of the Cricket Tournament, being organized as part of Lawyers Annual Sports Meet 2015, here.
In the first semifinals, Paradise XI got better of Counsel XI in a close contest by a narrow margin of 7 runs.
Winning the toss and batting first, Paradise XI scored 139 runs in stipulated 15 overs. Former Ranji Trophy player, Gurupartap Singh was the top scorer with magnificent 47 runs, while Amit Chadha contributed unbeaten 31 runs to the total. For Counsel XI, Aashray, Akshay and Azhar claimed 1 wicket each.
In reply, Counsel XI scored 132 runs to lose the match by a narrow margin of 7 runs. Amarjeet was the highest scorer with 52 runs, while Lokesh chipped in with 17 runs. For Paradise XI, Sahil took 2 wickets, Tariq, Gurupratap and Ajay Singh Manhas claimed 1 wicket each.
In another semifinal, Legal Star XI drubbed Dogra XI by a big margin of 85 runs in a one-sided affair.
Legal Star after winning the toss batted first and scored 166 runs in 15 overs, losing 5 wickets in the process. Pranav Kohli played a brilliant innings of 80 runs, while Surinder Jamwal also made valuable 47 runs and Sanjay Sharma also contributed unbeaten 15 runs to the total. For Dogra XI, Ravinder Singh Chib took 2 wickets, while Ajeet Singh, Mansoor Ahmed and Munish Choudhary took 1 wicket each.
In reply, Dogra XI bundled out for a paltry total of 81 runs, thus losing the match by a huge margin of 85 runs. Mansoor Ahmed was the highest scorer with 24 runs whereas Ajeet Pal Singh and Vishal Abrol score 10 runs each.
For Legal Star, Pranav Kohli and Irfan Khan took 3 wickets each, while Sami and Surinder Jamwal took 1 wicket each.
Meanwhile, in the Football Tournament, the final match was played between Parshuram XI and the ‘A’ team, in which ‘A’ team won by six goals to one (6-1). For winners, AP Singh pelted 3 important goals, while Lokesh netted 2 and Ravi Dogra one. For Parshuram XI, Umesh Sharma was the goal scorer.
