SAMBA, Sept 1: Param Football Club secured a 1-0 victory in the opening match of the Thalora Premier League, held at Thalora Mandi sports ground, here today. The game saw a competitive first half with neither team able to find the back of the net. However, the second half brought a breakthrough when Param Football Club’s player Sandhu scored a crucial goal in the 57th minute, giving his team a decisive 1-0 lead.
Despite several attempts by Brothers Unity to equalize, they were unable to breach Param Football Club’s defense, resulting in a hard-fought win for Param Football Club. This victory earns them a spot in the next round of the tournament.
The competition was inaugurated by social activist Sumeet Singh Sapan, who commended the youth of Thalora Mandi for their initiative in organizing local sports events. He emphasized the importance of such activities in keeping the youth physically active and providing them with opportunities to advance to higher levels of play. Also present were football coach Aman Sambyal, hockey player Shakti Singh, and other prominent local figures, who lent their support to the event.
