SRINAGAR, Apr 5: More than a dozen paramedical students enrolled in AMT Nursing School for the subject of ECG at north Kashmir’s Baramulla district today staged a protest against district health authorities after they were told by Government Medical College Srinagar that their course is invalid and is not recognized.
The students said they were shocked when they contacted Principal GMC to confirm about their date sheets for the ECG course but he revealed that course is invalid and they are not registered with the GMC.
A female student said they were admitted for ECG course in 2014 and accused Baramulla Hospital Administration of putting them in panic and trouble. “We are in complete dilemma and problem right now. One side administration has issued date sheet and on other side Principal is saying that course is not valid,” she said.
The students urged the higher ups to look into the matter and save their career. Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Yusha Mudgal, said she has brought the matter into the notice of Commissioner Secretary Health. “He assured me that the students would be allowed to sit in the examination” the DC added.
