Paras Sharma guides JCC to finals

JAMMU, Feb 16: Promising youngster Paras Sharma scored marvelous half-century and took 4 important wickets to help Jammu Cricket Club (JCC) thrash Shiva Cricket Club and enter the finals of the 3rd Ravi Singh Charak Memorial T20 Cricket Tournament at Government High School ground, Satwari, here today.
Earlier, batting first, JCC rode on a magnificent half-century by Paras Sharma and valuable 31 runs by Sandeep Singh to score 138 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Paras scored brisk 54 runs off 38 balls, studded with 5 fours and one six, while Sandeep contributed 31 off 32 balls with one four and one six. Jasvinder Singh chipped in with 17 runs off 21 balls including 2 sixes. For Shiva Club, Sourav, Kamal Kishore and Sonu bagged 2 wickets each.
Shiva Club, in reply bundled out for 78 runs in 16 overs, thus lost the match by 60 runs. Sonu, Rakesh and Kamal Kishore contributed 23, 16 and 15 runs respectively. For JCC, Paras was the wrecker-in-chief, who scalped 4 important wickets by conceding 4 runs in his 3 overs, while Manjit took 2 and Rohit claimed one. Paras was declared man of the match for his superb all-round show.
The match was officiated by Sadiq Hussain Malik and Vijay Choudhary as umpires, while Vijay Dogra was the scorer.
