Parents protest against private schools

UDHAMPUR, Apr 10: The parents of students of private schools held a protest demonstration against the alleged charging of exorbitant annual fee during COVID-19 lockdown in violation of the order of the Education Department.
A numbers of parents assembled in front of Little Flower Convent High School Udhampur today and lodged protest against the school management. They raised slogans against the school management and accused the management of harassing the students and their parents for not depositing the fee of COVID-19 lockdown period.
The parents appealed to Lieutenant Governor Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha and Education Department as well as Deputy Commissioner Udhampur about the violation of Government order by private schools in Udhampur District.
The women, while taking the school fee receipt in their hands raised their voice against the schools charging the fee on higher rates. The Private Schools Parents Association also joined the protest.
They said that during COVID-19 lockdown, all school remained closed but fee is being charge for those facilities which were not provided to the students. They demanded the return of excess fee charged by the private schools.
