Pathania demands Degree College at Majalta

DEHMA (MAJALTA), May 1: Bhupinder Singh Pathania, president District Congress Udhampur,  has demanded opening of a Government Degree College at Majalta.
Chairing  a meeting of Congress workers at Dehma (Majalta), he  questioned the very wisdom and sanctity of State Government’s decision of proposing  22 Degree Colleges in Jammu and Kashmir leaving areas like Majalta .
DCC Udhampur  has drafted, piloted and conveyed detailed memorandums in this regard to Union HRD Minister, Kapil Sabil, Union Minister for Health & Family Welfare, Ghulam Nabi Azad,  Saif-ud-Din Soz, Dr  Karan Singh and other senior Congress leaders at New Delhi seeking issuance of an addendum and include  the name of Majalta in the list of about-to-be-opened Degree Colleges in J&K, he said.
Proposed Degree College at Majalta shall feed pass-outs of as many as 10 Higher Secondary Schools and five Tehsils – Majalta and bordering areas of Jammu, Samba, Billawar and Ramnagar tehsils, Mr Pathania explained.
