UDHAMPUR, Dec 26: Keeping in view the vast potential for pilgrimage tourism in tehsil Majalta, general secretary, Pradesh Youth Congress, R S Pathania, has laid stress on nurturing pilgrimage there.
While addressing largely-attended public meetings at Sartari, Chatrahal, Smal, Srail Chuha villages here at Majalta, Pathania said, “Tehsil Majalta has vast potential for pilgrimage tourism, educational tourism and aesthetic tourism too and the people of entire State have immense faith in Pingla Mata Shrine situated in forest-area separating Ramnagar and Majalta Tehsils, Chountara Mata temple, Aapshambhoo Temple at Khoon and Mansar, Surinsar lakes (having religious, aesthetic, scientific importance) and Holy Devi Bani temple built by Pandavas.
Though Kala Dera temples and 105 springs at Manwal built by Pandavas have been taken over by Archeological Survey of India (ASI) and are being constantly maintained and developed by it, but no fillip is being provided on part of the State Government side for promoting and popularizing these shrines, he regretted and stressed the Government to take steps for development of tourism pilgrimage in the area.
Pathania also sought a CHC-level health institution for Majalta and an Accidental Hospital at Manwal. He also sought Health Sub-Centres at Chor Panjian, Pathwar, Neeli, Parla Sundla, Tajoor and Chani and electrification of Chatrahal and hamlets of Sartari and Smal.
