RANCHI: BJP’s national president Amit Shah today said removal of dynasty politics, politics of casteism and that of appeasement have been the biggest achievement of the present central Government which is being headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Addressing a press conference at the BJP headquarters here, Mr Shah, who is on a three day visit to the state, said when one looks back at the country they would find that scams worth Rs 12 lakh crore were done during the UPA regime while now there was such a government in power on which even after three years not a single charge of corruption has been levelled.
He said, the UPA-2 was suffering from policy paralysis while the present government being led by the Prime Minister was a bold and concrete decision making government.
Mr Shah said economic indices are the proof of the work being done by the central government and the share market was everyday breaking its own records. He said the Narendra Modi government has taken many steps for the welfare of the tribals, dalits, backwards, youth and women and the poor. He said under the Jan Dhan Yojana, 29 crore bank accounts have been opened while under the Ujjwala Yojana, 2.80 crore women have been provided LPG connections free of cost, the people were also being provided insurance cover of Rs 2 lakh at a premium of just Rs 22 and Rs 300.
He said, loans worth of Rs 7,64,000 crore have been distributed under Mudra Yojana while 4.5 crore toilets have been constructed under the Swach Bharat Mission. He said after Independence there were still 19,000 villages which were without power out of which 14,000 villages have been electrified and by May 2018 the remaining would also be lit up as the Government was committed to provide power to all by 2022.
Mr Shah said the GST which was a distant dream was now a reality and the notion of one tax one nation has been realised. The successful execution of the surgical strike post the URI Attacks is an example that the Government was willing to go to nay extent for the safeguard of the nation and restoring the pride and honour of the jawans.
He said, after USA, India was the only nation to carry out such types of attacks.
He further said that the Central Government ensured logical end to One Rank One Pension scheme and transferred a sum of Rs 8,500 crore directly in the accounts of the retired jawans of the army.
He said earlier also the world appreciated the skills of the scientists of the ISRO but now the world knows that ISRO can send 104 satellites in one go and India has emerged as world leader in space arena.
He said, in a series of steps including that of SIT on black money, demonestisation, cap on political funding and crack down of benami property were aimed at reducing the corruption and black money flow in the country. Mr Shah said that post the Paris Climate Talks India has emerged as a global leader.
Mr Shah also pointed to increase in number of tax payers, new pan registrations, launch of Bhim app and other initiatives of the central Government which are path breaking initiatives for the nation.
He said the Central Government is also committed to double the income of the farmers for which it has taken many steps.
To a query over the Pradhuman case of Gurgaon, he said that the incident was very unfortunate and a CBI probe has been ordered by the Haryana Chief Minister in this regard.
He said that three ministries of the Central Government have discussed the issues and are working upon it.
To a query regarding the Rohingya Muslim issue, he said the Central Government has clearly stated before the Supreme Court that it was ready to provide all possible help to them in Myanmar itself.
Over the rising oil prices, he said that new policy in this regard has been introduced by the ministry for which there was a need to give some time but overall the BJP Government has managed to bring down inflation which was in double digits during the UPA regime.
To a query regarding that attack on BJP and RSS workers in Kerala and West Bengal, he said the party was fighting it democratically and the acts are not being liked by the people of those states and in the time of the elections they would give a befitting reply to the concerned Governments in this regard.
